Hong Haoは、革新的な方法で現代の中国や世界情勢を作品に籠めています。今回ご紹介している"My Thingsシリーズ"は、彼の代表的な作品群です。様々な種類の蓋や本、タバコや包装類、紙幣など、細かく見てみるといろんな発見があります。撮っている素材は、彼の生活の一部であったり、当時の社会情勢を現す象徴であったり、過去の歴史を顧みるものでもあります。ヨーロッパ各地やアメリカ、カナダ、そして日本でも個展を開催し、名立たる美術館が彼の作品を収蔵しています。
